I was inspired by a popular Einstein quote that I have referred to in another article, and I now want to expand on this topic a bit. Albert said that logic can lead us from A to B, from one point to another, and imagination can lead us everywhere. Of course, we agree with this, but both logic and imagination are part of the human mind.
Can one act only on the basis of logic or imagination?
How do entrepreneurs work? How should they make decisions for maximum results? Guided by logic, or imagination? Or a combination of both?
Logic vs. Imagination In Entrepreneurship

It would be very difficult to decide which of the two is the most important factor for a successful career as an entrepreneur.
One thing is for sure, if you just follow the “Path of Logic” you can not expect amazing results.
On the other hand, only with imagination as a guide can you fall off a cliff.
I imagine it somewhat like this; it seems that logic is the “Brake” and the imagination is the “Gas”, the acceleration, the impulse.
And as with driving, the same rules apply to business development. You can not move in any direction without accelerating, but sometimes you have to press the brake as needed.
I believe that we must seriously evaluate this method / approach and adopt it as entrepreneurs, move forward with our imagination and instincts and listen to our logic when necessary.
We have already mentioned that a basic rule that governs the organization and management of businesses is to take risks. But we also stressed that successful entrepreneurs always calculate the magnitude of the risk, the size, they do not act only on instinct.
Of course, if you do not take risks, you will never grow. But you do not need to be charged over the top or bring disaster simply by selfishness or dystrophy.
What is your vision?
In addition to the financial success that is expressed in money and is the main motivation, one may have set specific goals to achieve. Some people go ahead with donations and charities, philanthropists… while others may fall into the trap of being driven by “greed” to continue to pursue uninterrupted financial pleasure, even in situations where their progress is painful to society.
The examples are innumerable.
My vision, for example, is to offer something valuable to the world and my main goal is to present something that future generations will remember. If I could achieve this I would feel satisfied and complete.
I envision my customers satisfied and grateful with my services. To be valued first as a human partner and then as a professional. That they remember something more than a financial transaction.
I imagine my collaborators eager, enthusiastic and exciting when we implement ideas and plans for the future together, pursuing a common goal.
But I’m probably too optimistic you could say, but I do not think it hurts at all.
If you are not optimistic as a businessman, you will probably not be able to cope with periods of recession and perhaps world-historical change.
I have always made decisions based on logic since I was little. I took steps carefully, but at the same time, my mind was traveling very far. I wanted to change this hateful modern world as much as possible.
Because I watched people change, day by day.
This is how I felt then, this is how I feel now, unfortunately, although the human species has achieved incredible technological advances and evolved, at the same time human relationships are bleeding.
As I grew older, so did the alienation of people, interests, conflicts, differences, jealousy, envy, the perpetual pursuit of money and fame, which are now a daily occurrence and do not concern us as much as we should.
Could my imagination lead me in the right direction?
The most important factor: setting goals
Realism and logic. You need to learn to walk before you run. Set your main goals, the primary ones, and go beyond them, set new ones, one level higher each time. And repeat this beautiful cycle that has no limits, no end.
But also use your imagination as a free spirit, let it travel your soul beyond the horizon and beyond this planet to set amazing and very-high goals and keep them in the back of the mind, acting as the spark that constantly feeds your progress.
Imagine that the people around you praise you for what you have achieved. Because you were useful and unique, someone who cared. Someone who loved his fellow human beings.
Someone over money.
These are the goals I believe must be set. Because without goals we are like an ungovernable ship. Where are we going; How do we achieve what we want?
Balance…
Do not forget to press the brake where needed. You do not want to take on major risks just to reach your goals. Be realistic and imaginative at the same time.
If you keep a balance between these two approaches, I believe there are no limits.
Have faith in yourself and in your strengths, All people are capable of anything, you just need confidence.
If you think you can do something, I tell you for sure, you can. But you must go ahead and stay on alert by taking action every day.
Do not rest. There is always room for improvement.
Believe in your ideas no matter how crazy they seem to you, or seem to others, imagination is a strong ally.
Did you know that at least 1 in 5 business ventures is highly successful? Isn’t it amazing?
Innovate, dare to create and offer products and services that are of unparalleled quality. Add your own touch, give new dimensions and sculpt a new generation of products that will change the world.
Do not be discouraged by problems and unfortunate events, everything happens for a reason, we can always learn something and become wiser.
Failure? Unknown word
Okay, not an unknown word. But failure is temporary, it is not something that stays, it does not happen, and then comes the end.
Equally, failure is a sign that there is progress, improvement, that you are trying.
Failure is inevitable but it is also the only path to success.
Every obstacle leads to progress was said by the wise ancient Hellenes (Greeks is not the right word).
How right they were!

Epilogue
Be visionary, dreamy, and obsessed with good results and your mission as an entrepreneur.
Be proud of yourself, and share values, strive to make this world better than you received it.
Don’t just worry about money.
Obsession with money did no good to anyone, only temporarily.
Add value to the lives of others, whether they are customers, partners, employees, suppliers, or people close to you, or strangers.
Help as much as you can without being charged. Be interested without being exploited.
Be fair and reward good manners, morals, good performance and free spirit.
Entrepreneurs believe in something before they see it and have a very strong imagination. But they are also rational beings.
Find the balance between these 2 worlds and move forward, with ethics, and responsibility, taking advantage of every opportunity given to you not only for personal progress but with the goal of something bigger than you.
If you are not yet an entrepreneur, you will never discover your true strengths and potential, unless you become independent. You have to experience it to understand it.

“Trendy” Revenue Sharing Explained | How “You” Become a Product!
Hey Tasos,
Awesome article as usual! I love imagination but I always end up spending hours zoning out if I do, it feels like time wasted if I do.
They even made fun at me at school and called me the dreamer. Now, I don’t imagine much, I take action almost immediately if I come up with something.
I note down achievable goals and finish that within a day before I give myself to think. That way, I don’t waste hours without productivity. Just sharing my 2 cents, cheers!
Hey Riaz , so great to see you again. You are very kind as always. Was not an awesome feeling , to have you called the “Dreamer”.?…
You are very experienced , so I can see that you found your way after all.Yes , taking immediate action is functional but sometimes I feel that imagination can add a different colour into the mix.
Thank you for this visit and for mentioning your methods , anyone can benefit from your message. All my best for the New Year..!
Hello there,
Great post, humans like imaginations, I prefer logic with some small imaginations that can be achieved, I agree with you regarding setting up your goal is so important as it can give you an index for where are you going, be realistic & stay in focus you will reach 🙂 light, unique & simple post thank you.
Welcome Ehab , I am very glad you enjoyed this article.Following the road of logic with imagination interruptions might be proved a magic solution.Besides we are humans , as you said , imagination is part of our lives and we can’t always proceed as 100% logic machines.
Thank you for this visit and for discussing the subject with me.
Hi Tasos, I never thought about the difference between logic and imagination when it was in reference to our business being better. Made perfect sense as I read your post, Logic vs Imagination in Entrepreneurship -Which One? I myself, think my logic is stronger, and gets in the way of my imagination. It aggravates me a lot at times. My imagination will tell me “go for it”, my pesty logic will say “they will never believe in it!” 🙂 Who do you think is the stronger? So, I know the point you are trying to make. We must believe in ourselves, if not, well no one else will! Thank you for reminding me, we need to dream some also! Best of Luck!
Linda
Welcome Linda , yes logic’s role is to prevent big jumps but imagination is what makes us better and unique.I am always proceeding with logic but I am not afraid to test things out when I have the chance.
I believe a combination of those two factors can maximise our productivity.
We have to dream as well , yes , thank you for this visit , your kind words and wish you good luck.
If I were to choose between logic or imagination I prefer both. I believe it is a matter of balancing both in order to attain better results. Logic is needed to have reasonable actions while imagination is for a creative way for the business to work even better. However, sometimes it is not easy to balance both. But i believe that it is not impossible.
How about you if you need to choose just one, which will you choose?
Welcome John , it is a tough question , indeed.A part of the brain says “Logic” , the other does not care so much. But if I had to choose just one with no alternative scenario I would go with “logic” , just in case I was wrong with the other option.
Making small logical steps might seem a better way to solve a business problem avoiding the risks. But it is the “Dreamy” part which makes the difference if we take that one step forward.Even in loss you still gain experience.
Thank you for this visit and for taking part in the conversation.
