It’s easy to understand the building excitement around 5G. This emerging connectivity standard has been introduced to more and more smartphones – and, in early 2022, is even expected to make its way to the cut-price iPhone SE, according to reports highlighted by MacRumors.
So, if you are a business owner, it’s becoming more and more financially palatable to deploy 5G technology for your workers to utilize. You could also be surprised by how many compelling incentives there are for your business to ‘go 5G’ sooner rather than later.
5 Reasons To Go 5G
To Accelerate Your Company’s Transformation

Adopting 5G could spur your company’s growth
This is judging from recent research conducted by Nokia and Nokia Bell Labs and reported by Business Leader. In this research, companies that advanced in their adoption of 5G were found to have experienced a 10% net increase in their productivity even after the onset of the COVID crisis.
You would expect this to bode well for the companies’ growth – and, indeed, in the same research, 5G-mature companies were recorded as significantly outclassing peer companies on this score.
5G adoption could also help future-proof your business
Gabriela Styf Sjöman, Chief Strategy Officer at Nokia, has insisted: “Organizations that have integrated 5G stand to benefit from advantages that go way beyond faster, more efficient and reliable network services.”
Sjöman claimed that 5G’s ability to move, process and store huge amounts of data quickly was crucial to “cities, hospitals and factories of the future”. The big challenges we face as a society today and the coming days and years- such as climate change and global pandemic- can be tackled at scale through data and technology following 5G network.
You could leave competing companies trailing in 5G usage
Startlingly, research elsewhere by IT services provider NTT DATA UK and research company technology Group revealed that, while most telecommunication firms questioned recognized the transformative potential of 5G, only a third of these telcos actually had a clear 5G roadmap.
Hence, many businesses could get ahead of the curve by sourcing – for example – voice, data and mobile services by Gamma, a telecoms firm that does offer 5G connectivity for its clients.
5G technology can support the customer experience
CIO points out how this has already happened in the healthcare space. The site explains that the COVID crisis has “proven the reliance healthcare has on a combination of Internet of Things (IoT) and enhanced broadband to support telemedicine”.
For example, “5G improves diagnoses requiring multiple connections at a remote site (patient dialysis at home or remote control of medical equipment)”.
5G bodes well for driving innovation, too
When you want to treat your customers to especially immersive digital experiences, you could find that you are somewhat hamstrung if your business continues to rely on 4G technology.

Conclusion
Two good cases in point are those of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). While these certainly make for immersive experiences, both of these technologies can perform especially strongly – and, in the process, encourage optimum adoption and usage – when delivered over 5G connections rather than 4G ones, with their comparatively limited latencies.
