Building an online presence, also called branding your business or yourself, is essential for any venture you want to undertake.

While this isn’t a complicated process, it will require a commitment of time and resources to help you build a positive image.

This guide can help you build a unique brand that will help you become more visible and recognizable.

Tips for Creating a Recognizable Online Presence

Start With a Logo

Even if you’re trying to brand yourself as a talent, having a logo will help others recognize you.

This also works well for new businesses that want to stand out against competitors. In either case, a logo that you consistently use on all of your web pages will give consumers a single image to rally behind.

Since the logo should be unique and of high quality, it’s best to work with a graphic designer to come up with a logo that represents your core values.

Once you have the logo, remember to copyright the image to ensure only you and your business can use it.

Pick a Color Theme

You should also pick a color theme, and it should match or complement the colors used in your logo.

One good example of this is the Pepsi-Cola logo, which uses the colors red, white, and blue to create its distinctive swirl.

You should use colors in a similar way, so your color theme will become as recognizable as your logo. Just as people recognize Pepsi by their colors without having to see the name of the brand, your color theme should also remind consumers of your brand.

You can build up this association by using your logo together with your color theme as much as possible.

After a while, people will think of your brand anytime they see those colors used together.

Your website should also contain a blog so you can regularly post new and engaging content. Your blog posts should entertain or educate consumers about issues related to your brand’s products, philosophy, or values.

By using multimedia, you can make your blog posts more engaging, increasing the likelihood that your site visitors will share your content on their own pages.

If you’re not skilled enough to create images and video memes on your own, there are plenty of online services that can help.

A third-party service will help you ensure you’re using free use images and video, apply a clear and legible meme font, and help you create multimedia that’s relevant to your brand.

Maintain a Consistent Presence

Making regular blog posts and social media posts are essential in helping you build up your online presence and in helping maintain it.

Once there’s an extended period of inactivity on your accounts, you may have to start from scratch. In fact, it may be even more difficult to rebuild your brand image because your followers have lost their trust in your brand.

You should pick two or three days for posting content and stick with those days. If you feel you’re too busy with the other aspects of running your business, hiring a social media manager can help.

You can still build your brand image when you use a third-party to help you stay relevant.

Engage With Your Followers

The goal of building your online presence isn’t to sell more products, although that is one advantage of creating a recognizable brand.

Your primary objective is to develop a following and grow visibility for your brand. This will require forging meaningful and long-lasting relationships with your followers.

Loyal followers will be more willing to share your content and suggest your brand to others.

The best way to achieve this type of relationship with users is by engaging with your followers.

You should reply to comments on your posts, like posts in which your brand is tagged, and respond to questions or concerns as quickly as possible.

This will show consumers that you care about them and that making a sale isn’t your only goal.
