Episode 37: How to earn natural links for your site

In the previous episode, we discussed what to do when they contact you just to earn links from your site in order to turn those spam requests into an opportunity both for your business and for those who make these requests.

And today we’ll be discussing how to earn natural links for your site without sending spam emails, without sending any email, without asking anything from anyone, without doing what other brands do to earn links. 

Link building is extremely important, a very effective strategy because when you earn links from other sources, you increase your authority and visibility, you establish trust in the market. 

Now, we have so many pages on our site with earned links from various sources and websites. There are pages with dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of earned links.

So how do I do that? Am I contacting other business owners all day long to ask for links?

No, I do not contact anyone to ask for links, never!

What I do instead is focusing on my content. I try to create exceptional quality content that answers people’s questions.

I dive deep into each topic providing facts, statistics, and other research findings and I link to other trustworthy and reliable sources to make my point whenever necessary.

I do not copy other people’s work, I express my point of view using my own voice and style.

This is important, this way you create unique content that can stand out.

No one is going to link to your content if it is a copycat.

Of course, it depends on the nature of the topic. For example, if I am sharing a story I might not share facts and research findings, in fact, in this case, I’ll present my story in the most compelling way possible to influence my audience and interact with them.

And when people pay attention and your content is engaging, you’ll earn links, shares, and mentions.

But the best way to earn links is by creating content that is appealing to other brands, content that they would love to link to because this way they build trust and authority with their audience.

Think about it, when you create content for consumers and individuals, they have only so much power when they share your content. You may not earn links at all because a big percentage of them do not have an online presence and if they do it might not make sense for them to link to your site. 

But when you attract other brands with your compelling content and they link to your site, this changes everything. Because their audience will be able to discover your brand by consuming their content.

Let’s recap, we need to create content that is unique, using our own voices, content that is appealing to other brands, and we need to dive deep into the topic and share facts, statistics, and research and we need to link to other trustworthy sources to make a compelling case.
