The eLearning industry has changed (whether we like it or not).
Let‘s be real for a second.
A few years ago, running an online learning business was simple. You recorded a video, uploaded it to a platform, added a quiz and hoped people would buy. That was it.
But things are different now.
The eLearning world is shifting fast. According to recent industry analysis, we are moving from “AI as a helper” to “AI as the engine under the hood”.
Learning platforms are no longer just places to host videos. They are becoming all-in-one hubs where you build courses, run communities, manage learners, handle payments and analyse data—all from one place.
Higher education experts also predict that 2026 is the year AI moves from “cool tools” to the actual operating system of learning.
That means automated advising, AI building courses for you and even smart search engines deciding whether students find your program at all.
So what does this mean for you?
It means you can‘t just focus on content anymore. You have to think about operations, delivery, client management and strategy. You have to think like a tech company, not just a course creator.
This is exactly why the Worlds of Learning: AI (WOL: AI) summit matters.
LearnWorlds – Worlds Of Learning AI | Review
LearnWorlds – The Organiser
LearnWorlds is an AI-powered, all-in-one hub for building, selling and growing online learning experiences.
More than just a standard LMS, it serves creators, coaches, enterprises and nonprofits.
Its full-stack toolkit includes a flexible course builder, interactive video tools, website and mobile app builders, marketing features and community engagement options.
Users praise its depth, customisation and robust analytics for turning courses into real businesses.
However, beginners may face a steeper learning curve and advanced features like white-labeling require higher-tier plans.
Overall, LearnWorlds is a powerful, future-focused platform that rewards those who invest time in mastering it.
What Is WOL: AI?
WOL: AI is a free, one-day virtual summit happening on May 14, 2026. It‘s organised by LearnWorlds, a major player in the learning platform space.
But here‘s the key thing… this is not a sales pitch.
The event website explicitly states: “Worlds of Learning is a standalone event… If you want to check out the LearnWorlds platform, you can do that here.”
The goal is simple. Bring together people who actually run learning businesses—B2B training agencies, course creators, NGOs and education networks—and have honest conversations about what AI really changes.
No hype. No theory. Just real experiments from real people.
Over 25,000 professionals have joined past Worlds of Learning events, with 10,880 registering in 2025 alone.
This year‘s theme is AI, and the timing couldn‘t be better.
How WOL: AI Builds On The Previous Event (Evolution 4X)
If you‘ve been following LearnWorlds, you might remember the Evolution 4X event series I reviewed a few months ago.
That was different.
Evolution 4X was a product launch. LearnWorlds unveiled specific new features:
- The Course Hub (a marketplace to buy and sell ready-made courses)
- LTI Integrations (bringing in content from LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, etc.)
- An advanced Automation Builder (with delays, branches and exit conditions)
- A License Reporter for B2B clients
That event was about what the platform can do.
WOL: AI is the opposite. It‘s about what the industry is doing.
| Comparison | ||||
| Evolution 4X | WOL: AI | |||
| Product-focused | Industry-focused | |||
| Announced new features | Shares real case studies | |||
| About LearnWorlds specifically | About the entire learning ecosystem | |||
| Internal product team speakers | External experts from World Bank, universities, etc. | |||
Think of Evolution 4X as the “here‘s what we built” event and WOL: AI as the “here‘s how the world is using AI right now” event.
They work together beautifully. Evolution 4X showed the tools. WOL: AI shows you how to actually use them (and tools from other platforms) in real business situations.
The Speakers: Real People, Real Experience
One thing I love about this lineup is the diversity.
You have academics like Dr. Karl Kapp, a professor who literally wrote the book on gamification (10 books, actually).
You have journalists like Chris Stokel-Walker, who writes for the New York Times and WIRED and literally wrote “How AI Ate the World” – described as the ideal primer on AI.
You have practitioners from massive organisations like Francesca Spagnoli from the World Bank Group, who built an LMS serving 57,000+ users across 195 countries. She has a certificate in AI from MIT. That‘s not theory, that‘s real-world scale.
You have founders like Lavinia Mehedințu (Offbeat) and Enrique Rubio (Hacking HR), who run massive learning communities and think differently about workplace learning.
And you have the LearnWorlds team – Panos Siozos (CEO) and George Palaigeorgiou (CPO) – who will share their own experiments and live demos.
The mix matters. You get academic research, journalism, corporate case studies and startup agility all in one day.
Session Overviews
The event runs for about 5-6 focused sessions, each roughly 30 minutes, including Q&A. Here‘s what you can expect.
1. Your learning business is now a technology business.
Speaker: Panos Siozos, CEO of LearnWorlds.
Panos argues that learning businesses’ thinking like tech companies are sitting on the biggest opportunity in the industry. He‘ll explain why this shift is necessary and how to start making it happen.
2. AI and the learning business. Have we been here before?
Panel with Panos Siozos, Josh Squires, Chris Stokel-Walker and Dr. Destini Copp.
Every tech wave (the internet, mobile, social media) promised to transform learning. This panel asks: is AI actually different this time? And what does that mean for how you run your business day to day?
3. How the World Bank Group used AI to scale to 195 countries.
Speakers: Francesca Spagnoli, Noemi Caiazzo, Mohamad Chatila (World Bank).
This is the session I‘m most excited about. The World Bank team built an AI-powered learning operation at a global scale without a big budget or dedicated tech team. They‘ll share exactly what it took. No fluff.
4. How to build an AI chatbot that sells courses for you.
Speaker: Dr. Karl Kapp.
Can a chatbot actually qualify leads and drive sales while you sleep? Karl says yes and he‘ll show you how to build one. Practical. Tactical. Immediately useful.
5. How to vibe code an AI reporting tool for 100+ courses.
Speakers: Sebastian Hofbauer and Cindy Moige (Global Surgery Foundation / SURGhub).
The title is fun (“vibe code”), but the content is serious. SURGhub built an AI reporting tool for 135 courses without an engineering team. They‘ll walk through how they did it and how you can too.
6. Inside the machine: LearnWorlds AI live demo.
Speakers: George Palaigeorgiou (CPO) and Eliza Cani (Learning Designer).
A live look at AI across the LearnWorlds platform. See how it works, what it does and how you could use it in your own business today. This is the closest thing to a “product demo” on the agenda.
7. What comes next: the AI-powered learning business.
Panel with Elise Joy Allan, Lavinia Mehedințu, JD Dillon and Enrique Rubio.
The closing panel pulls everything together. The day‘s sessions have mapped the territory. Now the panel asks: what do you actually do with it? What does a learning business look like if you get AI right?
What The Industry Is Saying
To understand why this event is worth your time, it helps to know what people actually think about the organiser.
I looked at hundreds of reviews across Trustpilot, G2, Capterra and Software Advice. Here‘s the honest picture.
The Good Stuff (Most People Love It).
Customer support is a standout.
Reviewers consistently praise the support team. They respond quickly (often within hours), send personalised video tutorials and actually solve problems. One reviewer said: “The best customer support I have ever encountered… they go the extra mile”.
Another mentioned a support agent staying late on the phone to resolve an urgent issue.
Feature-rich and powerful.
Users love how much you can do. Interactive video, quizzes, certificates, communities, mobile apps, marketing funnels – it‘s all there. One reviewer called it “a powerhouse and the ultimate tool for online education”.
Great for branding.
You can fully white-label your school. Custom domains, custom design, no “powered by” logos. For serious businesses, this matters.
The Honest Critiques (Not Everything is Perfect).
Steep learning curve.
Because there‘s so much you can do, it takes time to learn how to do it. New users can feel overwhelmed. One reviewer said: “It does require some time to get familiar with the tool and read through the resources to use it effectively”.
Cost can add up.
The lower-tier plans have transaction fees ($5 per course sale on the Starter plan).
Advanced features like white-label mobile apps require higher-tier plans. One reviewer noted: “Not an affordable option for small businesses”.
Some missing features.
A few users wish for a shopping cart (to buy multiple courses at once), better translation tools (without third-party costs) and easier social learning features.
All in all.
LearnWorlds has a 4.6 to 4.7 out of 5-star rating across major review platforms.
Users consistently call it one of the most complete and powerful LMS platforms on the market. The main downsides are cost (for advanced features) and a learning curve for beginners.
For the WOL: AI event, this matters because it shows LearnWorlds is run by people who care about customer success. They‘re not just a faceless corporation. They have a track record of supporting their users.
Who Should Attend?
This event is not for everyone. And that‘s all right.
You should attend if:
- You run a B2B training agency and want to scale without hiring a tech team
- You sell online courses and want to use AI to sell more, not just create faster
- You manage learning for an NGO, association or large organisation
- You feel overwhelmed by AI hype and just want practical ideas you can use next Monday
You might skip if:
- You‘re a complete beginner who hasn‘t launched a single course yet, though, it’s not a bad idea to know what is going on in the industry before you get started
- You‘re only interested in free tools and have no budget for paid platforms. Again, learning from experts will only help you.
- You don‘t run a learning business (this is not for casual learners)
Final Verdict: A Must-Attend (And Here‘s Why)
The plain truth.
There are hundreds of free webinars about AI. Most of them are surface-level garbage. They tell you AI is important, show you a few cool tools and spend the last 10 minutes selling you something expensive.
WOL: AI is different for three reasons:
1. It focuses on operations, not just content.
Everyone talks about creating courses faster with AI. Almost no one talks about automating delivery, managing multiple clients or building reporting tools. WOL: AI covers the unsexy but critical stuff that actually makes money.
2. The speakers have real credentials.
The World Bank team isn‘t guessing. They‘ve built systems for 195 countries. Karl Kapp isn‘t a guru; he‘s a professor with 30 years of experience. These people have actually done the work.
3. It‘s genuinely free, with no hard sell.
LearnWorlds explicitly states this is a standalone event, not a sales pitch. There‘s one live demo of their platform, which is fair given they‘re hosting the whole thing. The rest is pure education.
Compared to Evolution 4X, this event is less about what LearnWorlds built and more about what the entire industry is learning. That makes it valuable even if you use a different platform.
If you run a learning business, carve out a few hours on May 14. Register for free. Take notes. And leave with ideas you can actually use right away.
Join Me At WOL: AI And My Post-Event Webinar
I will be attending WOL: AI live.
I’ll be sharing key highlights in real-time (follow me on social media or check the news page).
I’ll be answering questions in the live chat – if you‘re stuck on something, ask and I‘ll help.
I’ll be taking notes on everything that matters for learning businesses, with an open eye for innovation windows.
And after WOL: AI, I will finally host my postponed webinar.
Postponed, yes.
You may remember that after the Evolution 4X series, I promised to deliver a follow-up webinar of my own. My plan was to share my personal take on where the eLearning industry is heading, based on decades of experience (I‘ve been an entrepreneur since 1992) and my “7 Ideals” methodology.
But then LearnWorlds announced WOL: AI..
It made sense to pause my own webinar. Why rush to share my thoughts when one of the biggest platforms in the industry is gathering experts from the World Bank, top universities and global media to tackle the exact same questions?
So I postponed my event. Strategically.
Now, after WOL: AI, I will finally host my own deep-dive session. Because after listening to speakers like Karl Kapp and the World Bank team, I‘ll have even more insights, data and real-world examples to share with you.
Think of it this way: WOL: AI is the main course. My webinar will be the dessert – a practical, no-nonsense session on applying what we learned to actually get traffic and convert students.
My Upcoming Webinar: Knowledge Industry Success Blueprint – Traffic & Conversions
It‘s all about how to get traffic and turn prospects into paying students.
I‘ve been running information businesses since before “eLearning” was a buzzword. Reviews, articles, case studies, guides, webinars, workshops, interviews, quizzes, eBooks and even custom video reports, you name it.
I know what works and what‘s a waste of time.
In this free (invitation-only) webinar, I‘ll walk you through:
- The #1 problem most course creators face (it‘s not what you think)
- My “7 Ideals” framework for testing markets before you build anything
- Real examples of info-products that brought traffic, partnerships and revenue
- How to use free content (like reviews and case studies) to attract buyers without paying for ads
- A simple three-step system to turn a stranger into a student
This webinar is part of my ongoing Knowledge Economy Success Blueprint workshop series. You may have seen the first 14 workshops on my site, covering everything from competitive advantage to market testing to landing page development. This next session is the practical, “how to get customers” piece that everyone asks me about.
Date and registration link: To be announced right after WOL: AI. If you want an invitation, join the WMS Business Growth Hub (it‘s free) or keep an eye on my blog (I‘ll post the details right after WOL: AI ends).
Don’t Miss These Two Events
Where else can you sit in a virtual room for zero dollars and learn directly from the World Bank team (scaling AI across 195 countries)? Or leading professors and journalists who eat, sleep and breathe this stuff? Or even the two founders of a platform powering 12,000+ learning businesses and $1B in sales?
Nowhere. That’s where.
This industry is a 1 billion per day economy. It’s projected to hit 1 trillion by 2028.
The opportunity is massive. But opportunity without execution is just a dream.
That’s why after WOL: AI, I’m hosting my own free webinar. One problem. One solution.
Traffic. Conversions.
How do you get people in the door? How do you turn a stranger into a paying student?
I’ll show you using my “7 Ideals” methodology – a framework built for one purpose: innovation. Because in a crowded market, the old playbook doesn’t work anymore. You need to think differently. Act differently. Win differently.
So register for WOL: AI. Learn from the giants.
Then join me and let’s solve the real problem together.
See you on May 14.
