You want to build an online business by creating a website in a niche of your choice.You have a passion about your topic but you are not an expert yet…

 

The fear of becoming an expert in a niche is one of the main reasons that people abandon their online businesses too early.They compare themselves with industry leaders and celebrities.

How can I learn so much as he does?…It would need decades to read and practice…No , I am not a genius….and all these crazy but natural human thoughts.

 

You are a newcomer , it just needs some time before you can fly.But I will show you that it is possible and you can make it happen.I was a newbie once too , I am a live example.

When you enter a new business area there are always people who started before you.But … there will always be people that will start at a later time than you.

 

But who is an Expert in a Niche?

 

 

Expert is not only a celebrity , an influencer or a top industry leader.

Expert can be considered someone that knows a topic better than the majority of people.And in every niche there are millions of people that don’t know a thing….Can you understand now the potential?

 

When I started out I was afraid of all these things too but by reading constantly , blogging frequently and by taking action now I feel very comfortable and I know the future is bright ahead.

Reading blogs & participating in the comments

 

There are bloggers in every niche that provide free information and they all started before you.Make it an everyday habit and visit blogs , not only the same but dig deep in your area to find more interesting content.One at a time

Don’t be afraid to leave a comment now and then , you will find out soon how exciting it can be.

 

Forums & Communities

 

Related forums and communities are places to interact with fellow bloggers and entrepreneurs.Be social and share your opinion and ideas.Ask when you need help and be polite always.

 

Magazines , leaders , influencers – Sign-Up for newsletters

 

Search for top industry names in your niche.Magazines that receive millions of online visitors and influencers are the key to get insights and learn secrets that simply the majority of people do not know.

Subscribe so that you receive emails to automate the process and follow their work.

 

 

The news

 

You have to be on alert with news concerning your industry but not only restricted to the niche you belong to.Have an open mind and be ahead of your audience.

You can use automated services like Google Alerts to simplify this task.

 

Flipboard , Medium , Scoop.it and other alike magazines

 

When you first starting out you can visit these websites to read and learn.As time goes by you can create sub-magazines in these places targeting your niche and other related areas (even areas you enjoy and are not business related).

Curate content from others as well , do not only post your content as it is a spammy method.

 

For example I have created a magazine on Scoop.it that is about college students and working while in college.I am targeting students by posting my content and by curating content from other websites.The results are awesome because these magazines are very popular and people read my content without visiting my website at the first place.

Not only , if someone curate your content you will get backlinks to your site as well and that means more authority for your brand.

 

Social Media sub communities – chats

 

Certain Facebook pages , Twitter chats , LinkedIn groups are only a few of the examples.

For me Twitter chats helped me a lot when I discovered them.I got connected with like minded entrepreneurs and learned tactics that I use to grow my business.

Be active and participate…and it does not have to take place everyday.

 

Competitor’s progress

 

When you participate in forums and all these social networks you meet bloggers and other business people in your niche.It won’t hurt you if you track their progress and watch how they attract customers.

You do not need to copy them and I advice that you don’t.Use them as an example for your improvement.

 

 

Videos , podcasts

 

Reading reading and reading a little more is not healthy for your mind.You need alternative resources of information.

This is where videos and podcasts come into play.There are thousands of free video tutorials and workshops and podcasts can be downloaded in .mp3 format so you can access the material even while you are driving.

 

Buy books , training

 

There are millions of free e-books , white papers and case studies that you will receive one way or another if you subscribe to the magazines I mentioned earlier.

But if you want to move forward faster you can track the best in your niche books and buy some of those.Spend wisely and read reviews before you make a decision.

Blogging frequently

 

Last but obviously not least in this catalog…

 

It is not enough to read and study all the time.The most important factor of all is to Take Action.

By blogging I learned from my own mistakes and I am always in a hunger for more.Deliver useful content to your visitors and provide real value to gain trust.

When people trust you they will buy from you , period.

 

 

Final Words

 

 

I know the subject is huge and I am sure I have left out techniques that other people might use.

But these methods helped me mostly so far.Of course I always seek for new horizons and by interacting with others I enhance my knowledge.

Don’t be afraid , you can make it happen.If someone else did , you can do it too.It’s that simple.
