Episode 39: Copywriting can’t save a bad product
I often get asked by business owners how can we increase sales with copywriting, using words that can convince our customers to buy more of what we sell and I ask back.
What about your product or service? Is it a quality one?
Are you proud of your product?
Would you buy your own product?
And if the answer is yes, then yes, copywriting can help you sell more of your product or service but if this is a bad product, it doesn’t meet customers’ needs, if there are flaws, issues, and other problems, then copywriting can help you sell more of that product, but I believe only once.
Because let’s say people are convinced to buy a product by reading words what happens next?
You’ll have to deal with refunds, returns, cancellations, complaints, maybe reports, you risk the sustainability of your brand, bad reputation, negative image, you risk losing customers, you risk losing partners…
So, it’s essential to have a good product in place because copywriting can’t save a bad product, copywriting can’t do miracles on its own.
It can help you sell more but everything with the product.
And that’s exactly what we are doing with our “7 Ideals” methodology.
We focus on the product, and on the end consumer to provide a superior user experience.
And then, the product sells itself.
It’s essential that you focus on your customers, satisfying their needs, and then everything will become easier for you, and then, we can use copywriting to give a boost to a product that already sells itself.
