Publishing content in a consistent basis can be really hard …No , I mean really really tough.A lot of marketers struggle at some point , dried out of new ideas and thoughts. But how can we attract new visitors?…How can we create a brand name for our company?…are questions that torture many professionals around the globe.

This is where content curation comes into play. And this is a technique that I am following for a very long time through my social media channels. And is working just fine , the engagement I get is increased (in most cases).

Besides I do not want to bombard my followers only with content that I created. That would be too boring , don’t you think?…On the other hand is a great way to honour those that started before you and to attract new visitors by exposing quality content from the experts.

A lot of marketing agencies use this method on their blogs , in alliance with their own content.

At Scoop.it you can find anything you might need as concerns Content Curation

Website: Scoop.it

Why it all started

They believed that software and technology could make content publishing much more efficient and impacting for professionals in general and marketers in particular.

From content curation to lean content marketing

Back in 2011 Scoop.it was launched.Today over 2 millions of users publish tens of millions pieces of content. And Scoop.it was investigating everything , collecting data , listening to owners and marketers , experimenting a lot and by cross checking their findings with the industry’s top influencers they developed a unique technology to achieve content ROI.

Lean content marketing is not just a series of best practices that their community regularly enrich , improve and share. It provides a framework for their product roadmap.

You can select recommended topics or users as well. You can curate content that other users published.

My Take

Within the dashboard there is a tab called “My community”…I was surprised to find people that I am connected with on social media.

I searched for a keyword in my favourite WA keyword tool and came up with …“Best jobs while in College”…Besides it is a topic that I promised to blog about when I published a related article..

I added 5 more similar keywords that are in demand using the WA tool and pressed Scoop.it

You can also install Scoop,it as a bookmarklet on your browser to curate content on the fly as you surf the web.

Let’s see – Start Curating

The app is suggesting topics that you can use.If you like any of the resources you just hit Scoop.it and add them to your portfolio.

On every article there are stats about its social media performance.I am sure you will choose to go with the popular ones.

On the top right corner there is a small red button displaying a number with suggestions.

On the left is the filter area with which you can manage your preferences. For example you can sort results based on freshness or relevance.

Another feature is that you can choose from articles , documents , pictures , videos , social networks and user suggestions.

Grad students , entrepreneurialism and career preparation

…The author suggest that students should be thinking like entrepreneurs instead of apprentices and this is totally aligned with my beliefs.I always encourage people to become entrepreneurs and take control on their hands.

This post has 21 Facebook shares , 302 LinkedIn , 1 in G+

Although this article is not exactly about the best jobs it can be used as an introduction because this is the mindset I want students to create for themselves.I will Scoop.it.

When you press to Scoop the post the app lets you add your own description so that your personal style is shown.I wrote a description with my personal thoughts and the next step was to hit publish. But I did not want it published right away.

Hopefully the app let’s you schedule the post for a later time.Superb…

I removed a few keywords and left only those close to the initial.

10 best side jobs for college students – Shares : 45 FB , 12 LiN , 9 G+

Another author that is thinking like me.I definitely will add this article. The topic makes an impressive introduction on why it is important to work while in college. And the main argument is the proud feeling of bearing your own expenses and be independent.Furthermore it expands on jobs divided into … in / off campus.

03

I added one article from my website .. “Is working while in college beneficial…? to the topic (think of the topic as a mini category)

Final Words – Resume

Scoop.it is a website application where you can curate content from external sources and share it.If you curate from Top brands you will get noticed by visitors of the Scoop.it community.Additionally if you go for the premium version you can embed that content to your blog.

But in that case , do not embed the whole article and just that.Embed a part of it to begin a conversation with your readers.Explain why you chose that particular topic and discuss with them or ask questions.Add your own insights and complete the topic in a creative way.

You can however use their services to embed content from your website to the Scoop.it community.A lot of users do that , but they are not only promoting themselves , they share content from other sites as well.So that makes Scoop.it like another social network , there are people visiting this website on a daily basis. This means you are getting exposed to more people.

I just started yesterday and my very first curated article received 6 visits so far , in a few hours.Looks like a good result to me.

Another important feature is that you can automate the process of sharing curated content by adding your social accounts in the dashboard. With one click you can get this content shared automatically to multiple destinations.

I will continue with the free membership to check things out so that I better understand the value of their services.

Update 30 Apr 2017

This program is very valuable. I am constantly using it on a daily basis for over a year now. It only takes me 3 minutes to overview my feed and notifications. I have only 1 board that I add my own content and I curate material from other websites as well.

I have gained many backlinks on my website as my content is being reshared on the Scoop.it community. Additionally I receive traffic that is interested in my content, the statistics inside the Google Webmasters tool and Google Analytics are very satisfying.

For that matter I prepare a training. Stay tuned.!

I hope you find this article helpful and that you investigate Scoop.it further for yourself.I am waiting for your comments and thoughts.Till next time , your online partner
